10th Annual Florida Jerk Festival

My first time at the Florida Jerk & Music Festival – Orlando (Previously Orlando Jerk Festival) was a pleasant, experience with nuff vibes. The venue was changed to the very spacious Orlando Festival Park, from the original venue at the Apopka Amphitheatre and while I have never attended the event at the previous location, this location seemed to be very fitting!

In September 2023, there were some other announcements made regarding this event including a name change that would also signify a bigger event to come; There was also a date change announced that pushed the event back from October to November. With all that said, I didn’t know what to expect but I knew the organizers were aiming for something big. With the announcement of the performers being Luciano, Ding Dong & Destra– It was going to be a Caribbean Connection on the Festival Park grounds!

At the event, there was an estimated 15-20 vendors, including Food, Arts & Craft/Clothing and Corporate Exhibitors. Though a majority of the crowd came out later in the night, the early attendees got a chance to walk around and see all the event had to offer, while enjoying the tunes from the early performances and the live band on stage. At some parts of the night, I could compare the crowd to a party inside the event, as the the Djs brought nothing but energy and good music from start to end. “The Messenjah” and “World Ding” topped it off with pure energy in their performances! Unfortunately, Destra was not present at the event as she was expected to be – I did see this news shared from the event’s team on social media during the event as well.
